Introduction
The Trade Policy Review Mechanism (TPRM) was first established on a trial basis by the GATT contracting parties in April 1989. The Mechanism became a permanent feature of the World Trade Organization under the Marrakesh Agreement which established the WTO in January 1995.
Acuerdo sobre Contratación Pública
El 3 de diciembre de 2013 los Ministros de las Partes en el Acuerdo sobre Contratación Pública (ACP) de la OMC, reunidos en Bali en el curso de la Novena Conferencia Ministerial, expresaron su satisfacción por los progresos de la labor encaminada a la entrada en vigor del ACP revisado. Tras haber sido ratificado por 10 de las Partes, el Acuerdo finalmente entró en vigor el 6 de abril de 2014.
Introduction
Long-term forecasts are chronically difficult. It is unlikely that “revolutionary” events, such as the explosion of communication and interactive facilities that shape our current way of life, from social networking to international offshoring, could have been predicted 20 years ago with any degree of precision. Nevertheless, even though attempts to predict the future may, to a large extent, rely on extrapolations of current trends, these efforts may help to take stock of important developments and identify challenges arising from changes that we are likely to face.
Conclusiones
El progreso tecnológico ha moldeado siempre la estructura del sistema de comercio mundial. La tecnología no es solo un factor determinante de los costos del comercio, sino que también define qué productos se pueden comercializar a través de las fronteras e influye en las tendencias de la ventaja comparativa.
