Activités en matière de règlement des différends en 2016
L’année 2016 a été l’année la plus chargée à ce jour pour le système de règlement des différends de l’OMC, avec chaque mois des procédures en cours concernant 22 affaires en moyenne. Pour certaines, la composition d’un groupe spécial ou d’un arbitre a été arrêtée, et pour d’autres, le rapport du Groupe spécial, le rapport d’arbitrage ou le rapport de l’Organe d’appel en sont au stade de la finalisation. L’Organe de règlement des différends (ORD) a reçu 17 demandes de consultations – première étape du processus de règlement des différends –, et établi 8 nouveaux groupes spéciaux. Le système a commencé à bénéficier des mesures prises pour faire face à sa charge de travail croissante.
Merchandise trade and trade in commercial services: Merchandise trade
The dollar value of merchandise trade fell by 13 per cent in 2015. This was mostly caused by a fall in the value of world exports of fuels and mining products, which declined at a dramatic rate (-25 per cent compared with -6 per cent in 2014). The decline was due to a sharp decrease in prices and a significant decrease in demand. Exports of agricultural products fell by 11 per cent, while exports of manufactured goods declined by 5 per cent.

Various WTO councils and committees seek to ensure that WTO agreements are being properly implemented. All WTO members undergo periodic scrutiny of their trade policies and practices.
Foreword by the WTO Director-General
This year’s World Trade Report looks at how trade and other forces of change are affecting our world. It combines contemporary analysis with conjecture about the future. The approach is eclectic, reflecting many different forces at work. The intermingling of these drivers of change is multidirectional and complex, and the pace of change is rapid.
Examens des politiques commerciales
En 2015, l’Organe d’examen des politiques commerciales (OEPC) a examiné les politiques et les pratiques de 24 Membres de l’OMC au cours de 20 réunions. À la fin de 2015, l’OEPC avait procédé à 429 examens portant sur 151 des 162 Membres de l’OMC.
